Es adem\u00e1s investigador colaborador con varias universidades en el mundo, incluyendo Hanyang Technological University en Singapore, la Universidad de Hong Kong, la Ecole Sup\u00e9rieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles, en Paris, la Universidad de Illinois, en Urbana-Champaign, y otras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Samuel Stupp naci\u00f3 en Costa Rica, pero luego de graduarse del Liceo se march\u00f3 a la Universidad de California en Los \u00c1ngeles, donde obtuvo su primer t\u00edtulo universitario. Posteriormente obtuvo su doctorado en la Universidad de Northwestern, donde posteriormente hace carrera docente y como investigador. Su gran contribuci\u00f3n ha sido desarrollar mol\u00e9culas org\u00e1nicas peque\u00f1as que se auto ensamblan en diversos tipos de pol\u00edmeros. En 1993 logr\u00f3 sintetizar pol\u00edmeros bidimensionales con mol\u00e9culas quirales y posteriormente el autoensamblaje de mol\u00e9culas polares dando origen a materiales piezoel\u00e9ctricos con propiedades \u00f3pticas novedosas. Dise\u00f1\u00f3 p\u00e9ptidos que se auto ensamblan en fibras supramoleculares, capaces de activar se\u00f1ales de transducci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica para la regeneraci\u00f3n de tejidos y \u00f3rganos. Esto representa una nuevo enfoque al tratamiento de las enfermedades, usando se\u00f1ales de transducci\u00f3n que surgen del ensamblaje espont\u00e1neo de p\u00e9ptidos y otras mol\u00e9culas peque\u00f1as.
